Chris Knupfer
Chief Investment Officer
Chris serves as Chief Investment Officer of Financial Investment Team, where he leads investment strategy with a disciplined focus on capital appreciation and preservation. Drawing on a career built across trade execution, institutional investment research, and portfolio management, he brings a rigorous analytical framework to every aspect of the investment process.
Chris began his career in the investment industry as a Trade Desk Associate at Jackson Financial, gaining early exposure to markets and execution. He went on to earn his MBA with a concentration in Finance from Pacific University in 2018, and subsequently joined BMO Family Office as a research analyst, where he developed deep expertise in hedge fund and mutual fund due diligence, equity research, and portfolio construction. These experiences laid the groundwork for his current role overseeing investment strategy and portfolio management on behalf of clients.
Chris earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Michigan State University in 2016, where he initially pursued a pre-medical track before discovering his passion for investing. That background informs how he thinks about client relationships, behavioral risk, and long-term decision-making.
Chris lives in Portland, Oregon, with his wife, Lelia, and their dog, Hugo. Outside of work, he is an avid hiker, backpacker, and camper who spends as much time as possible in the Pacific Northwest backcountry. He is also a passionate traveler with a love for exploring new cuisines and cultures around the world.
